So the stomach bug has hit our house! Not good! Thankfully, so far, I'm still in the clear, and I'm hoping it stays that way! It's one thing to take care of sick kids, but another thing when you're too sick to take care of kids who are also sick. The oldest two can technically clean themselves up and are big enough to mostly take care of themselves. Mostly :) The little one cannot. So, fingers crossed!
I got some fantastic news from the best friend ever, who happens to be living in Japan where her husband is stationed. Yep, they're coming back to the U.S.! They'll be on the east coast, rather than closer where we'd all like them, but at least they'll be within driving distance now. No 14 hour flights! It won't be until around October before they head this way, but still great news!
We happen to be considering stations to transfer to right now as well. We like it ok here. It could definitely be worse, but if we don't get Rusty into a non-deploying position soon after he gets back, he'll have to do another year-long tour a year after he gets home. We're just not doing that! So, wherever we end up, we'll end up, and we're all fine with that, because no matter where we'll be, at least we'll all be together. That said, I really don't want to go further north than we already are, or to Alaska. Somewhere warm and sunshiny would be nice :) We always end up trying to move back closer to home, closer to family, but it always ends up blowing up in our faces and we regret being so close. So this time, it will just be a matter of finding the positions and choosing from the locations that are open.
In the next day or two, I'll be restarting the hcg diet. I started it once, lasted 6 days (and lost 8lbs!) before I started feeling funky and weak. I think I just didn't gorge good enough those first 2 gorge days, and should have chosen my protein choices better. Aching muscles and feeling weak are not good, and I know if I'd just eaten a little more protein I would have felt better. So, I'm looking to start Monday, while the kids are back in school, so they won't be eating yummy fatty stuff in front of me all day :) Fortunately, I ordered 3 bottles of the drops, so even missing 6 days worth, I'll still have enough to complete at least the 3 weeks, hopefully longer. If I can't do it this time with the hcg drops, I'll be ordering the injections, as they're more potent and will supposedly make it easier to survive on only 500 calories a day for anywhere from 26-40 days. I think I'll update here, just for reference.
Til next time...

So I had another blog, and deleted it, and I'm going to start again. Well, I'm going to try to start again. It seems I set these up and then forget about them, and never end up posting anything. So here goes.
For now, I think I'll just post a little about myself and then come back later to do an actual post. If I remember =)
I'm a mom to 3 great kids, Jacob, Destiny and Aleta (Ally). Well, usually they're pretty great! They are kids afterall, and they have their moments. I'm married to the love of my life and though the Army is keeping us apart right now, we've been together for 11 1/2 years! This coming May, we'll celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, hopefully together and not separated by a few thousand miles, but I'm not holding my breath on that one just yet.
I do crafty things, though not as often as I'd like to. I've recently discovered the fun in making hair bows for my girls to wear, and for some friends' girls as well. I'm not that great at it, but they still turn out pretty cute. Most of them anyway =) I also have made blankets for each of my girls and other random things. I'm really not that crafty at all, but I like to try. It's something I can do when everybody's asleep, without having to leave the house, and that's quiet and won't wake everybody up and ruin what little bit of quiet *me* time I might be able to steal at the end of those really stressful days.
Not very exciting, but it is what it is, and it's the life we've been dealt, and we do what we can and what we have to, and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Well, except for my husband to be here. Everything else in life is trivial, I think. The important part is sticking together and after that, everything else falls into place. =)
